Group ride scheduled for March 18th. We will be starting at the powerlines off of Deep Creek. We will do the deep creek climb, and then head off to explore some new trails. Ride time may be between 2-3 hours. We may have to do a bit of hike-a-biking. If you want to now more send me an e-mail. 2/28/08 A refreshing change to our ride schedule. Since we like time trialing we are still going to do our usual time trial the first Tuesday's of the month. On the third Tuesday's we are going to switch things up a bit and do a little group riding. Come on out and join us. We will be posting ride locations a week in advance, so check back for the details. See full results

1/15 Carolyn smashes the competition at Honda Valley!See full results
12/04 Deep Creek was brutal. The recent rains made for a tacky course. Check out the latest results. Kent has set the time to beat on the Super D course with a 15:30.See full results
11/25 Next Time Trial is the dreaded Deep Creek Hill Climb on the 4th of December. We will be doing a practice run of the Super D course after the time trial. If your not interested in the time trial, but are interested in the Super D be at the top of the Deep Creek Climb by 4:00 p.m. It's a steep 3 mile climb. If you're riding to the top, allow for at least 50 minutes if you're an average climber. If you hate riding up hill, find a friend who is brave enough to drive you to the top. This will be the most exciting Super D course of the series. 95% of it is single track, with 90% of it downhill.See full results
11/06 Freshly graded roads at Oak Hills, make for a tough course. Lots of loose dirt. Matt had the victory in sight, but a missed turn cost him some time.See full results
10/30 Honda Valley's first ever Super D race was a high octane smash hit. We had a good showing, with some great racing. Romolo jumped quickly out front in the mass start and held on for the victory, with the real battles taking place between Russ and Matt, and Cody and Chad. Great passing, a few elbows, and with fast cornering made for a ton of fun! We will be sure to add a few more of these to the schedule. Check out the message board at the bottom of the page for possible dates and locations. If you are looking for speed, crazy turns, jumps, and more don't miss these races.See full results

Course descriptions (expert loops where applicable): Sycamore Rocks – some short technical rocky sections, short steep rocky climbs/descents, lots of flat riding. Careful of pinch flats. Oak Hills – some sandy/loose soil, steep short-moderate length climbs, a lot of short climbs, a few technical descents 2 or 3 of which can be a little sketchy, fun fast flowing singletrack section. This course works you. Honda Valley – lots of winding singletrack, a couple short rocky climbs/descents, lots of short climbs/descents, rarely flat or time to rest, not very technical, trail is fairly smooth overall, lots of sharp turns/corners. Hwy 173 – moderate non-technical climb on a dirt road followed by a paved road climb, soil is a thin loose layer atop a hardpack base, a few sandy sections & washboarded sections, there are a few downhill/flat sections that allow for some recovery. The climb starts off steep up a short paved section. After the lookout the climbing mellows a bit. The paved section near the end is steeper climbing. Slight downhill finish. This is the least technical of all the rides but will test your fitness. For singlespeed, 32x16 is tough but doable. Deep Creek – like the 173 climb except shorter and steeper and no time to rest, a real grunt, bring your granny ring.
Who we are
Victor Valley Bicycle Club Mountain Bike Group is a small group of individuals who enjoy mountain biking, time trialing, racing, and recreational mountain biking in and around the high desert area. Our members often compete in other races such as Norba Nationals, CA State Series, Rim Nordic Racing, Southridge Racing, etc. Time trials are free and casual with friendly competition usually including beginner, sport, and expert level riders. Most of our time trial courses have loops of different lengths/difficulties depending on your skill/fitness level. Some of the courses may be hard to follow at first but can be learned after riding a couple of times. We try to mark the courses where ever possible with orange paint/flags and/or piles of rock also known as cairns or ducks and of course our tire tracks. If you like mountain biking, join us for the next time trial.
